Traditional biotechnology processes based on transgenic microbes require nutrients diverted from feed and food usage, consume energy that is not always renewable and produce CO2 emissions.
Lastly, many valuable molecules can’t be produced through chemical synthesis. This process still requires the usage of often toxic catalysts and reagents, extreme PH and temperature levels and complex infrastructure that consumes energy and produces CO2 emissions.
Aplantex has developed a proprietary green biotech platform for the extraction of high-value plant active ingredients from an exclusive plant biomass. Our biomass has an average doubling time of 48 hours and consumes 40 % of its dry weight of atmospheric CO2. It is produced locally within a loop requiring only diluted mineral nutrients and renewable hydroelectrical power. The residual biomass of the transformation process can be entirely reused/recycled as a valuable component in the production of animal feed and pet food.
