A tip of our hat to the BDC for its support of cleantech technologies

November 2, 2023

With its Climate Tech Fund I and II, the Business Development Bank of Canada invests $ 1 billion to help Canadian companies reach their full potential and become world-class cleantech champions. This will enable the development and deployment of low carbon technologies which are so fundamental to Canada’s ability to meet its GHG emissions reduction targets. These innovations are and will be complementary to those of Aplantex focused on the local production of many molecules in high demand by the pharmaceutical, cosmetic and agrifood industries.

A powerful boost to cleantech companies

”Aplantex is entering its commercialization phase. Our innovative process based on proprietary photosynthetic phytoreplicators uses atmospheric CO2 and stores it in high-value carbon-based molecules. In a controlled environment, our exclusive process uses mainly renewable resources, few external inputs and produces close to zero waste. By reducing the supply chain to its strict minimum, we help Canadian companies respect planetary boundaries. It is thus with enthusiasm that we salute the BDC for its initiatives in the field”, underlines Mr. Patrick Charest, B. Sc., P. Eng., CEO.
