Montreal, August 31st, 2023 – On August 26th and 27th, McGill’s iGEM team held a conference that regrouped close to 200 participants involved or interested in the latest developments in the field of synthetic biology. The event took place on the premises of Concordia’s D3 innovation Hub. Aplantex was a proud sponsor of the event.
The future of the Canadian life sciences and bio-economy is in the right hands
The McGill iGEM team is a group consisting of Ph.D. students, masters’ students, and undergraduates all with one goal: to change the world with synthetic biology. Highly interdisciplinary teams are now the ones on the cutting edge of research. Biology is a field that increasingly requires tight collaboration between scientists and engineers. “The conference was entirely organized by the students. From topic and speaker selection to scheduling and financing. I was amazed by their commitment, drive, and spunk. The future of the Canadian life sciences and bioeconomy is in the right hands” underlines Mr. Mourad Sabri, Ph.D., Aplantex CSO.
