Let\u2019s have a little fun with myths.\u00a0They recount fantastic tales of gods and legendary feats from days long past. They are fiction, but myths are more than just stories. They served a purpose for so many cultures by conveying lessons that were based on human experience. They can remain relevant to this day, just look at what\u2019s playing at the movie theaters.<\/p>\n

\n

The essence of a real, modern-day legend: what if a single innovative process was able to produce most of the plant active ingredients useful to the health and well-being of people?<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

One of the earliest known works of fiction that introduces the notion of immortality is the tale of Gilgamesh, from Mesopotamia circa 2000 BCE. After his friend Enkidu dies, Gilgamesh fears his own death and seeks immortality. In his search, Gilgamesh seeks out Utnapishtim who was granted immortality by the gods.\u00a0 Utnapishtim ends up telling Gilgamesh about a way to achieve his goal: \u201cThere is a plant that grows under the sea. It has a thorn like a rose that will prick your hand if you grab hold of it, but if you succeed in taking it, this plant will restore your youth and strength.\u201d<\/p>\n

In one of Hercules\u2019 adventures, he seeks three Golden apples from the Garden guarded by the Hesperides for King Eurystheus. These apples grant immortality and are akin to the Golden Apples featured in Norse mythology. Similarly, in Chinese lore, the Peaches of Immortality are featured. The Peach tree was planted by the Jade Emperor and his wife and produces fruit every 3000 years. The Peaches were given to the other gods so that they could all live forever.<\/p>\n

Plants, fruits and herbs have a long tradition in ancient (and not so ancient) myths from cultures around the world. The attribution of magical or mystic powers and association with the notions of immortality, restoration of youth, strength and abilities are common in these legends.<\/p>\n

Myths have slowly transformed into tradition and traditions have turned into many different practises such as herbal medicine, to name one. Today, anti-aging products do not quite grant immortality, but they are full of plant active ingredients. Whether it be in lotions, food supplements or drinks, plant molecules are omnipresent and reported to have to antioxidant, neuroprotective, immunomodulating, anti-inflammatory, and anti-cancer properties, just to name a few.<\/p>\n

In most myths, magical plants and fruits are extremely rare, hard to obtain and they come at a steep price.<\/p>\n

What if there was one innovative process that could make all these plant active ingredients at will and at a reasonable cost? That\u2019s the stuff of a real, modern-day legend. That\u2019s the story of Aplantex.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
